3 Tips On How To Live A Healthier Lifestyle
You don't have to wait till you make your new year's resolutions for next year. There isn't a better time to reinvent and lead a healthier and more active lifestyle than now. With the number of resources, information, and health products made accessible to us today, making such changes is so much easier as we are more educated about health than before.
However, you don't have to completely overhaul your life to lead a healthier lifestyle. Instead, committing to smaller, more minor tasks such as having nutritious meals daily and learning how to manage your stress can help create a big impact in living a healthier and happier life.
Eat Nutritious Meals Daily
As a rule of thumb, a healthy diet in the American context consists of mainly vegetables, fruits, poultry, lean meats, poultry, fish, eggs, beans, nuts, whole grains, and fat-free/low-fat dairy products. Overall, the food you consume should be low in trans-fat, saturated fat, added, cholesterol, and salt, as overconsumption can harm your health and place you at a higher risk of getting more serious illnesses.
We'd recommend having half of your place filled with fruits and vegetables and the remaining half occupied by grains such as rice, oats, cornmeal, wheat, and barley alongside proteins such as lean meats, seafood, and other plant-based proteins. Then, when fresh produce is readily available in the summer, be sure to remind yourself to eat more of those by placing them in a prominent area of your fridge that is most accessible at your eye level.
Exercising Regularly
Incorporating regular exercise in your daily routine is key to keeping a healthy mind and soul. When we exercise, our body produces a chemical called endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin, vital in triggering that positive and happy feeling after a satisfying workout session. In addition, they regulate our moods, and it is important to stimulate them regularly to combat mental health conditions such as depression.
Exercising regularly also reduces our risks of getting severe health conditions such as heart disease, coronary artery disease, heart attack, hypertension, and high cholesterol. When our heart starts pumping and getting stronger, it improves our blood circulation and boosts oxygen levels in our body. You should be getting at least 2 ½ hours of moderate-intensity exercise, ideally spread equally over seven days on an average week. Strength training such as weightlifting to help build muscles and burn more calories should be done at least twice a week for optimum, consistent results.
Managing Your Stress
Stress is part and parcel of our lives. It is a part of our body's short-term response to perceived threats and dangerous situations and is part of our "fight or flight" mechanism as humans. However, with how fast our world is advancing and how hectic our lives have become stress has become integrated and normalized in everyday situations. Therefore, excessive stress can be detrimental to our emotional and physical health, and in the long-term, cause serious illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart diseases, diabetes, eating disorders, and gastrointestinal conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease.
Therefore, it is important to learn how to manage your stress by finding healthy coping mechanisms, by finding the things and hobbies you love doing most. Activities such as going for long walks, listening to music, soaking, and doing yoga are some of the many ways people unwind after a long and hard. Carve out some time during the week and dedicate it to taking care of yourself – both physically and mentally.
Exercising regularly, eating nutritious meals with the right amount of nutrients, managing your stress levels, and even taking a daily supplement to boost your body come together to form a holistic approach in leading a healthy and active lifestyle. Work on integrating these steps into your daily routine and reach your aspirations of living a great life. For more health-related educational tips, please visit eLivingToday.com.

5 Home Cleaning Hacks To Get The Home Ready For Fall
As you spend more time indoors leading into the fall season, it is important that the space you're living in is spick and span to make your stay at home a comfortable and fuss-free experience. Therefore, taking the time to maintain and deep clean your home can be a rewarding feeling as it provides you the peace of mind that your home is thoroughly taken care of and ready to brave through the subsequent colder and windier months ahead. We share with you five useful hacks you will need to get your home prepared for the fall season – just in case you haven't started yet.
Sort Your Outdoor Areas Out
Having your outdoor lawn and backyard organized and sorted is incredibly important. This will help you significantly during the Spring season when you will have less debris and work as the ice and snow thaw. Before storing your lawn equipment, give your green pastures the trim it deserves, clears out the fallen leaves of autumn, and clear out any fallen wood.
Don't forget your lawn furniture – you won't want them sitting under the harsh and cold conditions during the winter months and find them damaged later. Instead, give them a good clean with a pressure washer and lift them out to dry before storing them in the garage. More importantly, remember to clean out your roof gutters and remove any remaining debris from flower beds for easy and seamless drainage.
Call the Repairmen Now
The last thing you want happening in the middle of night during the winter storm is having snow come through the broken holes in your doors and windows and frosty air seeping into that will make the home colder than it already is. Call your trusty and handy home inspector, who will thoroughly lookout for any problems that need to be addressed as soon as possible. These could be loose in the shutters, siding, cracked roof shingles, and gaps around all openings such as doors and windows in the home. As the winter weather sets and the ice and snow start freezing and thawing, these issues are bound to get worse.
Give Your Home a Deep Cleaning
As you are staying home indoors, it is crucial the areas you are staying the most in are spick and span condition, well-cleaned, and free of dirt, grime, and bacteria to prevent you and your family members from developing allergies. Take the time to wash your textiles and fabrics such as rugs, curtains, sofa coverings, bedsheets, and throws with anti-bacterial solution, and ensure that all the dust and dirt in them have been cleaned. Also, this would be the right time to eliminate any dust from the blinds, baseboards, windowsills, and ceiling fans.
While this should be a regular affair, be sure to thoroughly clean the floors and keep them dirt-free with an all-encompassing cleaner like the DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI, which can mop and vacuum simultaneously, killing two birds with one stone. The T8 AIVI is a hands-free cleaning device controlled through your smart home devices. The cleaner is designed with a built-in HD camera for home monitoring and identifying household obstacles to navigate cleaning around them. Furthermore, it is engineered with navigation and laser mapping technology for efficient and thorough cleaning.
Improve Air Quality and Ventilation
To prevent allergies from acting up, it is important to service your air ventilation system and ensure that they are serviced and functioning well. Your air filter should be replaced, and the duct should be cleaned to promote healthier and cleaner air quality in the indoor atmosphere. This is crucial in keeping and maintaining air at top-notch quality by filtering out pollutants and allergens such as dirt, dust, and debris that have settled in the hard-to-reach areas of the home. If you happen to have a furnace in your home, call the servicemen to ensure that it is working and in good condition to keep you warm during the cold winter season.
Clear Out Your Off-Season Apparels
Keep the home clutter-free by storing all the off-season clothes you won't be using for the Fall-Winter period. You want to make space for your thicker and warmer Fall essentials such as your sweaters, coats, trenches, and jackets. This way, by making all your top necessities accessible, you won't have to fumble for that particular jumper you are looking for and make a mess by getting all your other off-season clothes mixed up in your closet.

The Nutritional Benefits of Orange Juices
Orange juice is imbued with many nutrients, including vitamin C, folate, potassium, magnesium, and thiamin – and in fortified juices, vitamin D and calcium. Studies have shown that people who incorporate orange juice in their diets tend to be healthier and have higher physical activity levels than those who do not. Furthermore, orange juice has been recognized to boost the immune system as its vitamins and minerals encourage the protection and production of immune cells.
Vitamin D found in fortified in 100% orange juice plays a critical role in regulating and strengthening the immune system to fight against bacteria and viruses. Additionally, orange juice has numerous plant compounds such as color carotenoids and flavonoids that are beneficial to supporting the immune system by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines and facilitating intercellular communication. Compared to other foods and beverages that contain added sugar, 100% orange juice comprises only natural sugars and comes with many health benefitting nutrients such as vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. Research has also shown that those who drink orange tend to have lower sugar intake than those who do not.
